  News > Using Imail Direct
  Issued - 11/23/2005

When using IMail direct on the mail server (i.e. mail.yourdomain.com:8383), please note that a default system timeout of 30 minutes currently exists on the system. If you are dispatching e-mail using Imail on the server, please note that it may be wise to compose lengthy e-mails that can take more than 30 minutes, on a word processor first. The text from the word processing document can then be copied and pasted into the composition input area on the IMail server.

The problem with a timeout is that any composition typed directly into IMail will be lost if the system times out after you click SEND. Should this timeout occur with the word processing document, it can simply be reinserted after logging back in.

Should you have any questions or concerns on this topic, please contact us at your convenience.
