Please be aware that there is a new variant of one of the Worm viruses that is now propagating throughout the internet.
This virus is particularly tricky because the email appears to be from somebody within your own domain. It will also include a zipfile attachment that will have an executable within.
The virus may include but not limited to the following:
Subjects may be similar to the below:
Notify about your e-mail account utilization
Notify about using the e-mail account
Email account utilization warning
Virus warning
Email From Addresses may come from:
admin@yourdomain.com
support@yourdomain.com
info@yourdomain.com
alert@yourdomain.com
manager@yourodomain.com
There of course may be more but these are all we have seen so far.
The virus in the email is usually in a password protected zip file and the password is included in the email message.
If you have received any emails that you are not sure of please check with the sender of the message to make sure it is not faulty and you should never open any .zip, .vbs, .vb, .pif, .scr or .exe files that you don't have previous knowledge of it being sent. |
